Valgro India – A manufacturer’s best friend

Valgro India leads metal finishing into industry 4.0. From a trading firm in Gujrat to an ISO 9001-2018 and TUV Sud Germany certification, Valgro India is Asia’s pioneer, largest manufacturer, and exporter of de-burring and metal finishing technology.

The company is now preparing for industry 4.0 with innovative technology and Web3 solutions.

Metal Finishing Technology Landscape

According to Prescient & Strategic Intelligence, in 2019, the global metal finishing equipment market stood at 13,845.6 million and was expected to rise at a CAGR of 4.2% by 2030. The projected growth is attributed primarily to the growth of the aerospace and automotive industries.

India holds a strategic advantage because of its location, and low costs. It has a competitive edge because of the cost-effective sourcing of metals. These two factors and low capital investment have made India the hub for metal finishing. Demand exists both locally as well as in the possibility of exporting to Asian and western markets. The Indian metal industry can potentially drive GDP and foreign exchange earnings.

Automating Metal Finishing

While potential markets exist, the Indian metal polishing industry is labor-intensive and supply chain bottlenecks exist. Being upstream in the supply chain, the bottlenecks restrict the production of finished goods. The finishing process is also harmful to laborers who work in small workshops with poor ventilation. This directly affects the country’s exports. Valgro India is the pioneer in the automation of the de-burring, polishing, and coating process. Valgro helps its customers reduce pollution, reduce lead time, deliver better quality, and facilitate standardization.

Making India a Superpower

The founder of Valgro Dr. Arvind Patel is a staunch Indian who believes in taking his country to the forefront. After completing his doctorate in metal finishing from the University of Swahili – Panama USA, Dr. Patel returned to his homeland. He founded Valgro in 1996, and it grew to become one of Asia’s largest manufacturers of abrasives, brushes, and machines for surface preparation. The company develops solutions for the metal industry.

With over 25 years of experience, Valgro India is known for its commitment to its customers, continuous development, innovation in the metals industry, and supplying complete surface treatment solutions.

The company’s proud claim that it is “making ‘Make in India’ possible” is reflective of the sentiments of its founder Dr. Arvind Patel, as is its customer-centric approach to providing solutions to metalworkers.

Establishment and Growth of Valgro India Ltd

From a small trading enterprise that supplied industrial products, to Valgro Engineers Pvt. Ltd., and later to Valgro India Ltd., the journey has been long and interesting. Established in 2005, Valgro Engineers sold abrasive products imported from Europe. Four years later, the company began manufacturing the abrasives in-house and marketing them under the name of Valgro. The year 2015 witnessed the establishment of Valgro India Ltd., set up to expand into the growing abrasive market.

High-precision machines that are customized to meet the customers’ requirements are the hallmark of Valgro India products. Valgro products meet German manufacturing standards and the company exports its products to several countries like Thailand, Spain, Canada, Vietnam, and the USA.

Remaining true to their Indian origin, however, the main consumers are medium and large-sized businesses in India. Today, the company proudly claims its place among the top five non-woven abrasive suppliers in India.

Growth Strategy

Dr. Patel and his team attribute the growth and success of Valgro India to three factors –

  1. A customer-centric approach
  2. Consistent innovation and
  3. Early adoption of technology

Valgro has always adopted an end-user approach to innovation, development, and manufacturing. The team at Valgro is committed to understanding unique customer challenges, helping customers build a safe work environment, and above all trust. Valgro works with its customers to help increase productivity, minimize setbacks, and speed up delivery.

Carbon Footprint

The metal finishing process releases several toxic substances like chlorinated hydrocarbons, cyanides, metal particles, and other volatile materials. Apart from health hazards due to inhaling metal dust and coming in contact with toxic compounds, the manual process poses other health hazards for metalworkers in India because the work conditions are often sub-standard with poor ventilation and minimum hazard protection.

Recognizing this poor state of affairs, Dr. Patel and his team ensure that machines manufactured at Valgro are manufactured keeping the environment and the health of the metal workers in mind.

“While developing these machines, we considered their impact on the environment.”

“Our de-burring systems do not emanate dust and dirt and offer a minimal level of noise pollution,” says Dr. Patel.

The Years Ahead

Today, Valgro leads the metal industry into industry 4.0 by leveraging solutions like AI, and IoT. Valgro has plans to create a seamless supply chain across businesses and industries, from the procurement of metal right up to the end user of the finished consumer goods, by providing their customers with futuristic IoT-enabled and AI-powered solutions. “We look forward to Industry 4.0, where integration is the name of the game,” says Dr. Patel, the CEO, and founder of Valgro India Ltd.

Valgro remains committed to its customers and hopes for continued support from stakeholders, and the community.
